Allison's Dog Training

About Allison

Allison is a Certified Dog Trainer, believes one of the most rewarding relationships in life is with dogs, and is dedicated to helping people develop and foster a loving relationship with their pet dog.  Through her ongoing work doing volunteer training at local shelters, she has seen first hand the heartbreak of what can happen when there is a lack of communication between people and their pets.  She takes great joy in teaching people to train their pets, or in other words – speak dog.  No dog is too young or too old to learn.

Working with clients one-on-one in the privacy of their own home and in the environment where they may be experiencing difficulties, Allison gears each training session individually for the client and their dog.  No two situations are the same.  She believes in positive motivational training – both for humans and canines by using scientifically proven principals of learning theory, coupled with a sense of humor!

Allison also instructs group classes, which have ranged year to year from trick classes to obedience classes, behavior modification for fearful and aggressive dogs, and even traveling classes that meet in different locations each week to practice all of their obedience in new and distracting environments.

Allison is a Certified Dog Trainer with Animal Behavior Training Associates, Inc.; a Certified E-Touch graduate, a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, a member of Suffolk Training and Obedience Club, and continues her education by attending dog training seminars, dog training conferences and is continually updating her library of animal behaviors and protocols. Allison is also a Mentor Trainer for Animal Behavior College, mentoring students who are on path of becoming dog trainers. She belongs to online groups of other dog trainers across the country.  Allison also started and hosts the Metro Dog Pros, which is a regional group of dog trainers in the tri-state area who gather bi-monthly to learn, host seminars, network, problem solve, and combine their talents and experiences.  Allison is also the official trainer for the Dog Talk Radio.

Allison shares her life with her son and their 2 dogs, an English Springer Spaniel, and a Toy Rat Terrier, as well as a tuxedo cat.
